A super ancient stone bead with the rare sun ray design. A lovely gem with a central equatorial stripe and 8 lines extending horizontally across the body. This design is often compared to a 'rail track' or the stitching on a rugby ball.
If you view the side profile you can see this decoration actually forms a sun like design. The sun is the decorated circle around the holes and the sun rays are the 8 lines that radiate outwards.
This is a very early Pyu bead and is completely opaque. There is a very old dig to one side of the bead (see photo) but it does not detract from the overall beauty of this bead.
Origin: Burma, Pyu Tircul
Condition: Very good with a small ancient dig to one side.
