Antique Nepalese statue of the Bodhisattva Chenrezig in his 1000 Armed form.
This special form represents his aspiration to protect all beings in limitless ways. The thousand eyes in his hands represent the thousand Buddhas of this virtuous aeon. His 1000 arms represent the activity of all one thousand Buddhas combined. As with most statues only his immediate arms are shown and the 1000 arms are to be imagined as being present.
This piece comes complete with an old rosewood base (last photo).
The base is hollow to allow for consecration.
