A majestic bronze/brass alloy Sri Lankan Buddha statue. Here the Buddha sits on a cobra throne with the hood of the cobra acting as a canopy. The cobra is traditionally viewed as the naga king named Mucalinda. He appeared in this form to protect the Buddha from the elements as he meditated under the Bodhi tree.
