A unique antique Tibetan silver needle case, inlaid with sherpa coral and turquoise cabachons. It has a great patina from years of being worn and handled and displays a beautiful floral motif to the front and reverse. The sides have also been engraved with a floral decoration. The overall condition of this piece is excellent. A sliding tray removes to reveal a compartment for storing needles and thread. Ornate needle cases were typically worn on a belt and prized for their practical use but were also highly valued as jewellery and used widely as such.
