Fine Art Thangka Print by Flera Birmane.
A sublime thangka of Guru Rinpoche, painted in the Karma Gadri style.
Guru Rinpoche or Padmasambhava is regarded by Tibetans as the second Buddha. He was invited to Tibet by the Dharma King Trisong Detsen (bottom right) according to the advice of the great abbot Shantarakshita (bottom left). Guru Rinpoche later went to Tibet and spread the Buddha's teachings on a vast scale. He blessed Tibet and the whole of the Himalayan regions with his realisation and transformed it into an environment conducive to the path of enlightenment. Here is seen flanked by his two principle disciples, the Dakinis Mandarava (left) and Yeshe Tsogyal (right). The Buddha Amitabha sits on a lotus seat above his head.
