A fantastic hand painted thangka of Guru Padmasambhava surrounded by his sacred assembly.
The thangka represents the terma practice known as Kunchok Chidu or the Gathering of All Precious Jewels. This is a special Guru Yoga practice which involves four aspects of Padmasambhavas activities, and encompasses all Three Roots: the Lama, the Yidam, and the Khandro, in the forms of Tsokye Dorje, Guru Drakpo, and Senge Dongma (Singhamukha), respectively. He is also flanked by the Dakinis Yeshe Tsogyal and Mandarava and in the foreground is Shantarakshita King Trisong Detsen.
