A great mala crafted from round coconut shell beads. Coconut shell has been used as a material for mala beads for hundreds of years in Tibet and they are normally disc shaped. It is therefore wonderful to come across these beautiful round beads with dark naturally occuring stripes.
In Indian culture Nariyal or Copra (Coconut) is a symbol of good luck and prosperity and also represents Ganesh or Ganapati, the deity who helps to clear away all obstacles.
108 beads plus the guru bead.
Strung on strong braided cord.
Bead size: approx 10mm (hole to hole)
