A very rare opaque black stone carving depicting the Six Armed Mahakala or Nyingshuk. He is an important protector of the Shangpa Kagyu lineage and considered to be a wrathful emanation of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. This piece is carved from an extra large piece of all natural black stone (most likely black jasper). Gemstone carvings of Tibetan deities are very hard to find and they are usually much smaller. A heavy piece with a strong presence!
Material: Black Stone (Jasper)
Condition: Mostly excellent, however, there is a surface fissure inherent in the stone (see red arrows in last photo). This is only really noticeable under close scrutiny. It still remains robust!
