A fine looking pair of human skull kapalas with well carved copper tripods and vajra topped lids. This large set was originally sourced in Nepal in the 1970s and they have not been used since this time. It is possible that the actual kapalas are older than the metalwork and this was simply added to make them more suitable for a temple or larger shrine room setting. Both kapalas have been painted red on the inside which most likely indicates that they have been ritually used. With the added copper tripods and lids they look absolutely magnificent. A very powerful pair of kapalas!
Old Tibetan kapalas are now incredibly hard to find and so this is an excellent opportunity to own an authentic matched pair that is more suited to a temple or large shrine set up.
