Here we have Vajrayogini in the form of Vidyadhari or Bidjeshwori Devi in the Newar Buddhist tradition of Nepal. It is believed that the Mahasiddha Maitripa accomplished her practice and therefore she is also know as Maitri Khechari. In the background is the Bijeshwori Temple where she is still worshipped as one of the four aspects of Vajrayogini today. This came to us from a European collection and was probably commissioned around 20 years ago.
